Privacy
Asmens is a Mac app that works on your Mac. It has no accounts and no telemetry, and it sends nothing to us unless you send a bug report. Last updated 30 October 2026.
What leaves your Mac
Only these, and only as described. None of them goes to the people who make Asmens, except that update checks and downloads reach the server hosting them.
| What | When | What is sent | Default |
|---|---|---|---|
Update check, azizyigit.com | Once a day if you allow automatic checks (asked once; Settings › General), or when you choose Check for Updates | A normal web request: your IP address and the app's version reach the host (Vercel). No information about your Mac | Asked once |
| Weather, Open-Meteo | Every 30 minutes while it's on, and as you search for a city | The chosen city's rounded coordinates and temperature unit; your search text | Off |
| Lyrics, LRCLIB | Only while the lyrics panel is open, after you allow it once | Song title, artist, album and length | Off |
| Bug report, asmens.app | Only when you press Send in Report a Bug | Your text, an email if you typed one, app and macOS versions, Mac model. Your IP address reaches the host, Vercel. Kept as an issue in a private GitHub repository | Nothing sent otherwise |
If you turn on live limit reading in AI Usage (off by default), Asmens runs the Claude Code, Codex or Antigravity tools you already installed, and they contact their own services with your own login.
What stays on your Mac
Asmens keeps what it needs in ~/Library/Application Support/Asmens and in its preferences. Removing that folder removes it.
- Clipboard history: text, links, file paths and images you copied, and which app they came from. Items marked as concealed, such as passwords from a password manager, and apps on the exclusion list are never recorded. You can pause, limit, clear or auto-clear it in Settings › Clipboard.
- Shelf and notes: what you put there.
- AI usage: token counts, models, costs and project names read from the logs your AI tools already keep. Prompts and responses are never stored.
- Claude Code activity: reads only when a turn starts and ends, never the conversation. Nothing is stored.
- Watch: your watch definitions. Captured frames and the text read from them exist only in memory.
- Music, video and sound: what's playing stays in memory. Audio used for per-app volume and the equalizer is processed live and never recorded.
- Notifications mirror (off by default): the text of your last 20 banners, in memory only, cleared when you quit.
- Calendar, camera, Bluetooth: read when needed and kept in memory only. Camera frames are only shown, never saved.
- Local API (off by default): listens on this Mac only. It stores the apps you allowed and a hash of each token.
Permissions
Every permission is optional: Accessibility, Screen Recording, System Audio Recording, Calendars and Camera. Skip one and only the feature that needs it stops working. You can change them at any time in System Settings › Privacy & Security.
This website
asmens.app uses no cookies and no analytics. The hosting provider, Vercel, keeps ordinary technical logs of requests. The demo on the home page runs in your browser, and a file you drop on it stays in that browser tab.
